For those of you who loved the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" what is the beauty behind it?

The beauty to me is the man was disciplined enough to maintain his humanity, his dignity, and his values, while living in an insane environment. But he had a life before he went in that totally belied the wrongful sentence he carried. And life in the end ruled in his favor and justified him. It redeemed him to start life again. But it is interesting that while he did not change. Others around him did. And in that sense too, because they knew him, they too were redeemed. I love that movie. I it was like liquid sunshine to my soul.
