Does this seem like a good idea for a new video game consumer?

I have debated long...so very damn long on whether I should invest my money into Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 (kinetic and move doesn't matter to me) and I haven't been able to decide considering I like Xbox 360's more user friendly interface, my friends all play Xbox 360, ability to listen to music while playing games, controller, and from what i've been told it has a "more reliable and faster internet connection," which makes sense considering all gold members is required a monthly fee but the things that even made it a competition on the Playstation 3 is it's blue-ray player, and mive line-up of exclusives that i'm really into. So what i've come up with is considering the Playsation Portable Next Generation is going to have all of Playstation 3's exlusives (mainly Final Fantasy 7, it's old but my favorite game) which is the only reason I wanted it, maybe I should just buy the new PSPNG and have a handheld with all the games I want, then have my Xbox 360 which seems to be dominate in all area's beside's exclusvies because i'm not a big Halo fan, only Gears of War. So does investing my money into a Xbox 360 and accessories for it and the new PSPNG instead of buying a Playstation 3 sound like the best choice to get the best of both worlds? Also I love using my laptop far more than my desktop but it doesn't handle games as well as I would like to so any information about gaming PC's and gaming laptop's would be appreciated because i'm also a pretty big MMO fan and the graphic's on computers are unrivaled by consoles.
