Help me find the movie name?

An Indian movie about a man who left his girlfriend to return to his hometown for an arranged marriage. He finally loved his wife, but at the end of the movie he was arrested for killing the villager he had conflict with. I saw this movie in 1990s. Please help me cause I've searched 4 it for so long but I still cant find it.
