Have an interview for a receptionist in a GP's surgery - will I have to take a medical HR advice please?

If there was no section on the application form asking you to list any sick days then mention it at the interview, they will respect your honesty and you had a good reason. You may be handed another medical history form but if you want the job then do your best. They cannot discriminate you for sickness due to a hysterectomy. Good Luck..
