What foods do you feed your kids when they are sick?

My boyfriend's nephew loves bread when he's not well. He eats peas and green beans too when he's not well. They are usually tinned ones and we drain them and put them in a bowl and he eats them. He used to eat soft boiled eggs and toast but his younger sister is allergic to eggs so they no longer have eggs in the house.
